The Month Before Christmas

The Christmas tree is up, Christmas list on the fridge
Shopping is next, I feel like I’m in bondage
I have to remind the kids that it’s not about a present
Or about how much we spent
It’s about the birth of Jesus

When He was born, an angel appeared
The shepherds feared
“Don’t fear," the angel said, I bring you good news
There is a baby born, Jesus, the King of the Jews
A multitude of heavenly host came signing
Declaring glory to God and the Savior is bringing
Peace to all men, they were worshiping God the Son

The month before Christmas we can have fun
Buying things for each other, but remember the reason
For the season is the birth of Jesus and His love
Which we are unworthy of
May our gifts be to one another the love of Christ Jesus

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men.
Luke 2:13-14

Christmas time is my most favorite, not because presents, but Jesus Christ's birth.
