What I look for in a best friend is
Someone who wants to have fun
Someone who makes me number one
Someone who loves to be with me
Someone who listens but doesn’t have to agree
What I look for in a best friend is
Someone who extends grace when I’m grumpy
Someone who loves me when I’m frumpy
Someone who speaks well of me when I'm not present
Someone who forgives and forgets when we have an argument
What I look for in a best friend is
Someone who speaks the truth to me
Someone who lets me be free
Someone who is excited when I’m excited
Someone who loves me, even when I’m farsighted
Someone who loves me, even when I’m farsighted
What I look for in a best friend is
Someone who doesn’t try to fix me
Someone who wants my heart, I give him the key
Someone who’s set apart
Someone I can trust with all my heart
What I look for in a best friend is
Someone who cries when I cry
Someone who never will say goodbye
Someone who loves and cares
Someone who isn’t afraid to show their tears
What I look for in a best friend is someone I need to be!

What a beautiful model for friendship, family, and marriage your poem is.
People who are really true friends are always there for us.
