Family and Friends (Couplets)

Family and friends are so dear
Don’t want to lose them, that’s my fear

God, with Your strength I’ve learned to run
To Your one and only true Son

I pray for my family and friends
Because You’re the one that defends

I ask God, comfort them and give them peace
I will pray this without cease

I miss them so very much
All I need is a light touch

One day soon, I will see them again
This I pray today, Amen

I’ve learn that this type of poem is call a Couplets. Couplets have two lines that rhyme.

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.  1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ©All articles and comments on Dinky’s Hum Drum Journal are the property of Bridget Sherman and are Copyright protected.

Nice poem. Your love for your family is obvious. It is cool that they are such a big part of everything you write. You must be an awesome wife, mother, and friend.
