Time to Lose Weight

Christmas is over, New Year is here
My pants are so tight
It’s the scale I fear
 It’s time to lose weight
I know you can relate
I need to stop eating
Everything on my plate
This is the month a really hate
No more gravy, turkey or ham
Say goodbye to my favorite candy yam
No more chips and dips
 And yes to celery sticks
I need to start hiking
Moving this body of mine
I’ve crochet enough beanies
But I want to look fine
Christmas is over, New Year is here
It’s time to stop eating that chocolate musketeer

Happy New Year
Get your body moving

I'm Sick ~By Eyvette Sherman~

I’m sick
So, I will sit with mommy and watch a chick flick
I think I have a running nose
There is snot running down from my head to my toes
Achoo, “bless you”
I'm sick

I’m sick
I have a sore throat
I can’t talk so here’s a note
I want some ice cream
Please don’t make me scream
I’m sick

Silly Poem ~This Queen Needs Rest~

Lying in bed feeling lousy
All day feeling drowsy
Body sore and achy
Hands a little shaky
Peace and quiet are my friends
I hope tomorrow I feel better, I guess it depends
I need rest tonight
 Then maybe I’ll be alright
Please no more pain
Lord, I don’t want to complain
I have so much to do
Places to go to
House to clean
This is when I wish I was a queen
Maids to do all the running around
So I can just lie down
In bed, they may serve me a cup of soup
Maybe my favorite ice cream, a BIG scoop
I got to stop wishing
And start dishing
 My kids need to eat
I think in the fridge there is some meat
I hear the kids yelling
They need to stop rebelling
And be quite for just a bit
I’m getting ready to through a fit
Please Lord, come and take me away
I’m so done for today

I pray, LORD, give me the strength to do everything I need
I can’t do anything without You, indeed!

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13

Thank you Honey for taking care of me today.

Precious Gift

I have a very precious gift
But
Don’t touch it
Until I give it to you
Don’t shake it
Until I give it to you
Don’t peek
Until I give it to you
Don’t unwrap it
Until I give it to you
Don’t squeeze it
Until I give it to you
It’s very special and it’s for your eyes only
I need you to take good care of it for the rest of your life
I will give it to you on your wedding day
My gift to you will be my daughter or son
I take good care of them
I pray for them
I feed them
I look after them
I protect them
I teach them
I love them
I do everything for them
And
I expect you to do the same
Or
I will be coming after you!

Do not stir up nor awaken love Until it pleases.
Song of Solomon 8:4

Yard Sale

I will sell
Clothes, books, and toys
Things I once enjoyed
I search the house for whatever I can sell
I will yell……YARD SALE!
Who wants an overstuffed blue whale?
This may seem funny
I need the extra money
 Christmas is coming fast
Someone please buy, I ask
New clothes, book, and toys
Things that will brings you some joys
Until next year
When I yell in your ear
YARD SALE

Silly Poem~Nothing to Write~

Sitting here with nothing to write about
Thinking and thinking and kind of pooped out
What do you write about when you have nothing to say?
I can write about the day
Or how to fly away
How about ballet
Or my daughter's essay
How about I try
 To write about the sky
Or a tough guy
How about an apple pie
I can write about love
Love from above
Or a white dove
How about a boxing glove
I really don’t know what to write
So I guess I will say, "Goodnight"

In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise.
Proverbs 10:19

Silly Poem ~Reach Out~

life can be so lonely at times not knowing what to do or think
believing and saying life really does stink
what do people do all day?
just watch TV or play games
or sit around and call each other names
look out the window and stare
locked up in the house
watching the cat chase a mouse
no one to talk to
no one to share
does anyone really care?

i can see why people get depressed
just alone and no one around
sitting and gaining another pound
how long would it take for someone to see?
to reach out and make a call
make someone’s day change, all and all
it will bring a smile to their face
knowing that someone really cares
 knowing God answered their prayers
a smile, a hug, a laugh, a touch
they can feel and know
you love them this much
reach out and make a call!

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another

Silly Poems ~Where Do Butterflies Live~

I dream of going where butterflies go
Free to fly anywhere the wind may blow
No worries, no cares, no burdens to bear
Just free to fly high in the big blue sky

Where do butterflies live?

I dream of flying high in the big blue sky
Touching the clouds and waving goodbye
Free to fly anywhere the wind may blow
Looking at everything down below

Where do butterflies live?

I wonder if butterflies laugh and smile
Looking at me being silly, once in awhile
I love to laugh and dream of things
Dreaming I could fly and have beautiful butterfly wings.

Butterflies live in my silly poems and dreams!

A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.
Proverbs 17:22

Silly Poem ~Daydreaming~

Forgetting always gets me lost

I seem to be daydreaming

And it comes with a cost

I forget where I park my car

I always seem to park it too far

I miss my exit on the freeway

It doesn’t matter, night or day

I always seem to burn dinner

Maybe I’ll get a little thinner

I forget my children’s names

Josh, John, Jerry, oh yea, James

I’m late picking up my kids

I hope they don’t flip their lids

Daydreaming can be so much fun

As long as I don’t forget and get everything done

I wonder, what am I suppose to be doing now?

I don’t know…….. But ciao!

I will never forget Your precepts, For by them You have given me life.
Psalms 119:93

Silly Poem ~Do You Wish~

Do you wish time would fly by?
Do you wish time would slow down?
Do you wish you were alone?
Do you wish people were around?
Do you wish you had something to do?
Do you wish you had nothing to do?
Do you wish you could go to sleep?
Do you wish you could stay awake?
Do you wish you were fishing at the lake?
Do you wish you could change things?
Do you wish you had big rings?
Do you wish you were married?
Do you wish you were single?
Do you wish you could sing a great jingle?
If you had one wish what would to wish for?
Because I’m getting tired of wishing
And this poem is becoming a bore.

Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content
Philippians 4:11

Silly Poem ~Complainers~

I can’t wait for this weekend,

It will be so much fun.

I have lots of friends,

Who love me a ton.

I’m such a great person

And they know I’m always right,

So me and my friends, you’ll never see us fight.

I hope we have dinner

And it better be good,

I will let the waiter know

The food was terrible, understood?

I hope we see a good movie,

One that I picked and liked

Or I will definitely go on strike.

We have to have coffee and eat some cake

Or I will let them know they are making a big mistake.

Ring, Ring ,Ring

 Hello,

WHAT?

I guess my weekend will have to wait.

Friends!

These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts.
Jude 1:16

Silly Poem ~Oh Me Oh My~

Oh me oh my

Another day went by

Sitting in this chair, PJs I still wear

Oh me oh my

I guess another day went by

With me in this chair

Out the window I stare

Oh me oh my

I think I’m going to eat piece of pie

Sitting here in this chair

It’s time for me to say goodbye

I need to get a life!

Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

Silly Poem ~Ugly Stinky Feet~

My kids think feet are ugly and stink.

I ask, “Why do you think?”

Some people’s feet look like hands,

Especially if you look at Ann’s.

Fingers that call themselves toes,

Some people use them to pick their nose.

Can you imagine eating with those?

Dirty looking feet,

Running around the street,

Trying to be discrete.

Some are hairy

And look kind of scary.

Some are big

And look like a guinea pigs.

Some are small,

Look like they came from a brawl.

Some feet smell, I run and yell,

AIR!

All I know is my kids think feet are ugly and stink,

I think they are beautiful and unique.

How beautiful upon the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good [things], Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, "Your God reigns!"

Isaiah 52:7

I Found a Snake - by Eyvette Sherman

My mom had me wash the window on the front door

Then she had me scrub the kitchen floor

During that time of my cleaning

 I heard a snore.

Mom, wake, I found a snake

That got her up and awake.

Silly Poem ~Mr. Elf~

 Mr. Elf, you’re not fair

Every time I get to the light

You seem to turn it red and bright.

I sit forever waiting in my car,

Mr. Elf, I have places to go that are really far.

Please turn the light green,

And stop being mean.

Do you run from red light,

  To green light,

To yellow?

Or just sit at the red light

And laugh at me, fellow.

Do you have a family of three,

Papa Elf,

Mamma Elf,

And

Baby Elf

Watching me

Sitting all by myself?

I have no time for this,

Off I go,

Blow you a kiss.

Good bye!

Now I hear sirens,

I have to stop

And explain about Mr. Elf

To the cop.

Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.

Silly Poem ~My Husbands Other Love~

She sits at his feet,

She follows him around.

Comes when he calls

And loves to play ball.

She brings him his slippers

He says, “My good dog, Skipper.”

As I suspect, he thinks she is perfect.

She knows he’s the master,

But I say, “What a disaster.”

I will never sit at his feet

Or follow him around.

I don’t come when he calls,

Or even play ball.

As you suspect, I’m not perfect,

 But I don’t care.

I’m sure he knows,

And is aware,

I have another love too.

He is there when I call,

He hates to play ball,

He remembers

Everything I say,

He will never stray.

My faithful love,

I have him hooked,

Yes, his name

 is

Notebook.

So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.

Matthew 19:6

Friends, I know this is a silly poem about a husband and wife, but please remember a marriage relationship is very special. No other relationship, not with parent or child or friend, is to supersede the bond between husband and wife. Marriage is a commitment made to God and your partner. Ask the LORD to help you to always be faithful and in love with your spouse.
